Dr. Achin Bhowmik

Dr. Achin Bhowmik serves as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Engineering at Starkey, a global leader in hearing technology. He oversees research and development, engineering, and program management, driving the transformation of hearing aids into multifunctional communication and health devices.
Before joining Starkey, Dr. Bhowmik was Vice President and General Manager of Perceptual Computing at Intel, where he led R&D and business operations in 3D sensing, computer vision, autonomous systems, and immersive technologies.
Dr. Bhowmik is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University and an affiliate faculty member of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute, where he teaches computational perception and intelligent systems. He has authored over 200 publications, including two books and 80+ patents.
He serves as an industry representative for the US FDA Digital Health Advisory Committee, as well as boards for Mojo Vision, RealSense, Astranu, OpenCV, and several academic and nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Bhowmik is a Fellow of IEEE, SID, and AAIA, and has been recognized with numerous honors, including TIME’s Best Inventions, the Red Dot Design Award, Gold Globee for Most Innovative Person in Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award, and listings among the Top 25 Healthcare Technology CTOs and Notable Leaders in Healthcare.
